Your complete scholarship application will be automatically considered by the Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) Scholarship Committee and the University of the Aftermarket Foundation (UAF). In addition, it will also be considered by several other organizations if you meet their scholarship requirements. So, a complete application may give you the opportunity to compete for several different scholarship awards. Please see the website for specific requirements for each organization's awards.

Before you begin: A complete application requires:
  • This form with all required fields (designated with an *) completed.
  • An essay – about 250 words or 1 page. You can enter it below, attach a file to this form, or fax or mail it to the Scholarship Committee at the address at the bottom of this form.
  • Your high school transcript or GED Certificate. You can attach a scanned copy here, or fax or mail it to the Scholarship Committee.
  • If you're already in a post-secondary school, submit BOTH your high school transcript and your post-secondary school transcript. You can attach the scanned copies here, or fax or mail them to the Scholarship Committee. If you are graduating in 2017, we will accept a partial high school transcript.
  • We will accept copies of all school transcripts.
  • At least one reference letter. Note that some organizations require more than one reference letter and/or a reference letter from one of their members. You can attach scanned copies here, or fax or mail them to the Scholarship Committee.
  • Note for Students attending post secondary ASE / NATEF certified schools in Minnesota. Apply here, but you must also submit an automotive teacher verification letter in addition to a reference letter (from someone other than your automotive teacher) to be considered for the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of Minnesota, AASP-MN, scholarships. A link to download the teacher verification form is available at www.automotivescholarships.com/AASP-MN. You can attach a scanned copy of that form here, or fax or mail it to the Scholarship Committee at the address at the bottom of this form. Minnesota students should also submit their school transcripts to qualify for GAAS, UAF and other organization scholarships.
  • Note for Students affiliated with Automotive Parts Associates. Apply here, but you must also submit an affiliation form to APA Headquarters. You can download the form at http://www.automotivescholarships.com/scholarshiptype.cfm?type=44. Attach a scanned copy of the form to your application, or fax or mail it to APA Headquarters at the address on the form.
Please look over the whole application form and collect the information you'll need before you begin.

We hope you will have access to a scanner to scan and attach your school transcript(s), reference letter(s) and any other documents. We prefer .doc Document or .pdf Adobe file formats over .jpg photos of documents. If you use your phone for this, please use Evernote Scannable or a similar application rather than the phone camera. It will speed the processing of your application. If you do not have access to a scanner, you may fax or mail these documents to the address at the end of the application.

Even with all the information, it may take an hour or more to complete this application. You can start it now, and complete it later. You can enter your data, and click on the "Save and Submit" button at the bottom of the form to save your application. You will be able to log back in using your e-mail and password to complete or update your application. You may continue to update your application until the deadline or until it is assigned to reviewers.

All materials must be at Scholarship Committee by March 31, 2017 for consideration for any of the 2017 scholarships.

Incomplete applications will NOT be considered for ANY awards.
