Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of Minnesota Scholarship

Scholarships are available to students entering their first or second year of a post-secondary ASE Education Foundation accredited automotive service or collision repair program in Minnesota.  Applications are reviewed by a committee of industry representatives, with consideration given to scholastic achievement, education and career goals, financial need and written recommendations.

  • Scholarship awards will be in the amount of $500 – $2,500 and can be applied toward tuition or tool purchases.
  • To be eligible for scholarships, applicants must be in good standing in their program, making satisfactory progress, and attending regularly.
  • College studentsYou must have an instructor submit a verification form on your behalfYou must also submit at least one reference letter from someone other than the person who completed the instructor verification form.  The reference letter should indicate the writer’s relationship to you.  You may scan these documents and attach to your scholarship application or fax or mail to the address on the scholarship application.

  • High school students:  If you’re currently enrolled in an automotive class, please have your instructor submit an instructor verification form on your behalf.  If you’re not currently enrolled in an automotive class, submit at least one letter of reference.  The reference letter should indicate the writer’s relationship to you. You may scan these documents and attach to your scholarship application or fax or mail to the address on the scholarship application.

  • AASP-MN will accept the instructor verification form instead of school transcripts.

    However, Minnesota students who also want to be considered for awards from UAF, and other organizations should also submit their high school and post-secondary school transcripts.

The scholarship awards are the centerpiece of AASP-MN’s Automotive Education Fund, which was established to provide financial resources to support automotive students, enhance automotive programs and raise awareness of career opportunities in the independent automotive service industry. 

AASP-MN awarded 15 scholarships in 2024, totaling $15,000.  To date, over $345,000 has been invested in scholarships to automotive students and programs throughout the state.
