About the Hourglass Foundation
The Hourglass Foundation is the charitable arm of Hourglass Management, an asset management company representing a portfolio of businesses in vehicle remarketing and automotive finance.
In 2016, Ron and Chad Shoemaker formed The Hourglass Foundation, realizing that the 4-year college path is not for everyone along with the extreme automotive and skilled trade gap in the United States. Their vision is to help the underserved community pursue a different path. Their message is one that simply states, “we want to help kids and give back in a big way”.
Ron Shoemaker, Founder of Hourglass Management, and 30+ year veteran in the automotive industry whose companies include Flexco Fleet Services, www.flxfleet.com and Innovative Funding Services www.ifsautoloans.com along with his son, Chad Shoemaker, the CEO for the companies, wanted to give back to an industry that has blessed them in many ways. This passion along with hard work catapulted them to create successful companies. The Hourglass Foundations’ mission is to make a difference – Offering scholarships to young adults, many who are first generation students who wish to pursue a different path such as trade schools or community college focusing on automotive technology, engineering technology and skilled trade programs. The Hourglass Foundation knows that everywhere you look you can see that there are gaps in automotive and engineering technology, as well as skilled trade industries, which include fields like HVAC, Electrical, Construction. The Hourglass Foundation is driven to help students prepare for our tech-oriented world, both Ron and Chad said the message of their mission is as simple as this, there is “more than one path to a successful career and life”!
